Requirements


The city of Reykjavík works with SOFTIQ's experts on public and government projects.

One project in the field of education involves the development of an application for parents who want to enrol their children in school. This application aims to replace the traditional paper-based enrolment process with an efficient electronic system.

In the area of social affairs, an application has been developed to support people with disabilities. They can now conveniently make appointments with officials via the application.

These initiatives demonstrate the City of Reykjavík's determination to improve the efficiency and accessibility of public services.

Solution


A new IT department has been set up with the City of Reykjavik's new digitalisation process.

The aim of the project is to provide user-centred services and reduce the amount of paper used when submitting applications.

The system has been designed so that it can be fully integrated and combined with other systems. It is designed to make it easier for citizens to access services by allowing them to submit applications, book counselling sessions and then be assigned to the most appropriate counsellor. The main objective is to optimise the registration of requests and applications and to make the flow of information about the services offered more efficient.

Process


The SCRUM methodology was used for the projects for the city of Reykjavík.

The client provided most of the design, requirements and other briefing materials. A process was developed in extensive joint workshops and brainstorming sessions and all functions were then implemented smoothly.
